What do you think of this gossip about BAFTAs 2012: WIN a pair of VIP tickets to the Orange British Academy Film Awards! have your say below...

love that john hurt is getting the special award. he so deserves it (as do i with those tickets lol!)
I loved The Artist and would love to see that win some awards. I also thought Street was excellent as Thatcher (but that was too late to be put in?), although the film was a whitewash. Actually, I’m pretty sure I was in that film, seeing as I was a Poll Tax Rioter all those years ago…..hiding behind a bus stop in Trafalgar Square! I expect I was a speck on the screen….
I subscribe to the BAFTA Newsletter, which I enjoy immensely and I think that as usual, the panel has chosen the best possible, most deserving nominations for each category!
I would so LOVE to attend the live, actual ceremony, instead of merely watching it on T.V.!
Unless I’ve been reading for the wrong year, I do believe that Christopher Lee is having a special award! I’m really pleased about this, for he used to make my hair stand on end in the Hammer Horror Films of the 60′s and possibly early 70′s! He has (or had) a wonderfully scary – yet handsome – face and is getting on a bit now and walking with a stick, I think. He certainly deserves recognition for his very entertaining work!
I understand that you are honouring John Hurt this year! I’m delighted, because he’s been my very favourite actor for more years than I care to admit to! Also, I strongly feel he should become a “Sir” a.s.a.p., although that’s perhaps more down to the Queen than to you!
In my humble opinion, his best work was done when he was younger, before he was brought, perhaps, to popular fame in Alien and other blockbusters which I don’t think displayed his full talent and range.
He made some wonderful films in his twenties, such as: “Before Winter Comes.” In these, he out-performed all his contemporaries. He is also a very charming man; I once had the pleasure of meeting him. I should like to again!!
Is it true that Martin Scorsese is receiving the Fellowship from you this year? He’s certainly done some brilliant work, especially with Robert De Niro. It would be nice if the Americans were as generous with our actors and directors as we are with theirs, though! Sometime they realise they’re beaten, as with Helen Mirren playing The Queen. Generally, however, I wish they would be a little more International!
